Add More Plants!

ADD MORE PLANTS. Plant-based eating is becoming an increasing trend and I am sooo for it!! Don’t get me wrong I love a piece of grilled salmon or chicken but trying to increase your overall consumption of plants is SUPER beneficial! We are massively under-eating Fibre these days bc as hunter gatherers we were so busy munching on loads of roots and plants. Here are my top 3 tips to help you increase your plant intake!⁠

1. Add a vegetarian meal at least one night a week – build these meals around lots of veggies.⁠ lots of people like doing this on a Monday. Protein is the hardest macro for the stomach to digest so it’s great to give our system a break once in awhile.

2. Go for greens – try a variety of green leafy vegetables such as kale, collards, spinach, and other greens each day. Steam, grill, roast or stir-fry! ⁠

3. Build your meal around salad – fill a bowl with salad greens such as ice berg, spinach, rocket, or leafy greens. Add an assortment of other vegetables along with fresh herbs. ⁠then pop in your deck of cards size piece of protein. ⁠
