It is estimated that globally 1 in 5 people suffer from chronic pain – that is a whopping 1.5 billion people – a staggering number wouldn’t you agree?? No wonder pharmaceutical companies make billions of dollars on analgesics. Sadly, some of these analgesics, although well intended, can have devastating side effects that can obliterate your microbiome, damage your gut lining, cause liver damage and can lead to dependency. Luckily, we have some amazing alternatives to help people in pain and from my research and clinical experience, here are my top 3 pain relieving supplements:

Curcum-Evail™ 

Making the top of my list is Curcum-Evail™ which is a highly bioavailable formulation containing a combination of three health-promoting compounds known as “curcuminoids,” which are derived from turmeric root. You are probably already familiar with turmeric – it’s a bright yellow-orange spice popular as the main ingredient in Indian curry powders, and its high concentration of curcumin underpins the centuries-old use of this root in Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine. 

Curcumin helps reduce pain by significantly lowering inflammation in the body, supporting a healthy immune system and as a powerful antioxidant. PEA Supreme™ makes my list as it contains a natural substance called palmidrol that is naturally created by the body in response to pain. Interestingly, it is also found in various food sources, including eggs, milk, tomatoes, and black-eyed peas but you would have to eat copious amounts of these foods to gain any therapeutic benefit. Palmidrol helps support a healthy response to inflammation and a healthy response to pain (3) (4). Here are some of my top tips to a pain free life:

  1. Learn to relax – use meditation & deep breathing exercises.
  2. Exercise regularly to increase your natural pain relieving endorphins.
  3. Avoid inflammatory foods from the nightshade family (white potato, eggplant, tomatoes, goji berries, and capsicum), alcohol and diary.
  4. Eat a healthy diet to maintain a healthy body weight.
  5. Seek alternative therapies – mindset coaching, massage, chiropractor etc.
